Halloween 2011

This was Jaxon first Halloween so I had to dress him up even though we weren't really going trick-or-treating.  Our ward had a trunk-or-treat and I had to go and show him off.  It was a lot of fun since that was the first time our ward had seen him since he was born.  When I put this costume on Jaxon I started laughing so hard!  I think he looks so cute but I may be a little bias :-)

This was our sad attempt to carve an angry bird.  I didn't have a small enough knife to do the eyes.

More Pics of Jaxon

Just a couple more of the hospital

Cute gas smile!

This was his first bath.  He sat there super content the entire time.

This is one of Andrews favorite pictures

Such a cute daddy and son picture!

He already likes to help out when he eats.  He did this totally on his own.

I love this picture!  He will always sleep with arms over his head or a hand by his face.

I think this one is so sweet!

Grandma Bleak came to help out a few days after we got home from the hospital.  Thanks Gma!

Jaxon found his thumb all on his own.  He didn't know what to do with his other fingers.  He kept poking himself in the face.

His cheeks are so chubby that when he lays on his side, his bottom lip goes in.  Hilarious!

I was too slow in getting my camera out in this picture but he found two fingers and was sucking on them for a little while.

This is one of my favorite pictures because he is so bright eyed.

Grandma Van Noy came right as my mom was leaving.  Thank you to you too!

Once again he has his hand up by his face while sleeping.

This video is of him finding his thumb.  If you listen carefully you can hear him smacking.  Oh I just love this little man!

Going Home!

I forgot to post pictures in his going home outfit.  I was surprised to find that this outfit actually fit seeing that it was a newborn size.  It's now too small.  But I love it!

Jaxon Lewis Van Noy is born!!!

Last night was a horrible nights sleep.  Neither Andrew or myself were able to sleep soundly.  We both were anxious to become parents and see what our little boy was going to look like.  We arrived at Cottage Hospital at 6:45 am and are scheduled for the c-section at 8:45 am.  It seemed like forever waiting to go into the surgery room.  It was a little after 9:00 when we finally made our way into the room where Jaxon would be born.  Andrew had to suit up in scrubs before coming into the room.  I remember how nervous I was as the whole process was beginning.  I was so scared to get the epidural but that was a piece of cake compared to everything else.  I was laying on the table completely numb just waiting to see my boy.  All of a sudden I hear all the Dr.'s comment on how big his cheeks were.  I started tearing up knowing Jaxon was here and hearing his cute cry! He was 11 lbs. 2 oz., 22 inches long, and born at 9:38 am. After cleaning him up they finally brought him over to me.  Jaxon kept crying and wouldn't stop.  When they laid him on me I started talking to him and for that moment he stopped crying.  I know he knew my voice!  That made me cry a little harder.  Andrew got to go to the nursery with him and I was stitched up and taken to the recovery room.  It was over an hour before I got the feeling back in my body.  (It's the same feeling when you go to the dentist and your mouth tingles as it's getting the feeling back.)  I was then rolled into my actual room that we would be staying in for the next 4 days.  Jaxon was able to come into our room at the same time. As Andrew was holding Jaxon he noticed that his breathing was kind of labored.  The nurse thought it would be a good idea to take him into the nursery and have him checked out.  The next couple days were totally unexpected!
A couple hours after Jaxon was taken to be checked out, I had a nurse from the nursery come tell me that he is in he NICU and the head Neonatologist needed to come talk with us because of some complications.  I was trying not to freak out yet since I didn't know what was going on but that was hard since it was my son they were talking about.  When the Neonatologist came into our room, he didn't have all the answers yet because they were still running some test but he did tell us that he breathing was labored, his blood sugar was low, and he knew something more than just a heart murmur was going on.  We were so worried because the Dr. made it sound like he had a major heart defect.
After waiting several hours, the Doctor finally told us that Jaxon received too much insulin while in the womb, and that extra insulin made the left side of his heart bigger than the right side.  Fortunately this heart defect can correct itself as long as Jaxon stays well hydrated.  Jaxon was in the NICU from Monday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon which was a huge blessing that he didn't need to be there any longer than that.  His blood sugar levels had gone up and his breathing was just fine.  The only thing we needed to do was make sure he was eating every 3 to 4 hours to keep him hydrated.
We were very excited for Friday to come because that was the day to go home!  The hospital rooms were so small and I was ready to not have nurses in and out of the room all day and all night.
We are so grateful for all of the prayers in our behalf.  We know they were heard and were answered.

 This was before the C-Section

I think this picture makes Jaxon look bigger than he is

This was in the NICU.  You can see the IV in his head.

Baby Showers!

Before we moved to California, my mom and sisters threw me a baby shower.  It was so dang cute!  The them was Jungle Animals. It was so good seeing family and friends just a few days before leaving Utah.

This was the gift table.  The center piece is a diaper cake and was made by my sister Kellie.  Love it!

This was the dessert table.  Stephanie did a great job!

Closer look at the dessert table

 More food!

These cupcakes were make by my mom.  They look amazing!

These are chocolates that were made by Stephanie, my sister-in-law

The shower was held in my moms backyard

These are the ladies who put the shower together: Boose (or Katelyn), Jennie, Mom, Kellie, Stephanie

The super cute invitation!

After being in California for a few months, I was given a baby shower by some wonderful ladies in the ward.  It was a lot of fun to get together and eat some amazing food.  I was very excited to open a brand new jogging stroller!

This is a brass shoe that will have Jaxon's birth weight, length, time of birth and name on the bottom.
