After dating for only 3 months, Andrew popped the question on September 14, 2010! We had been ring shopping and I knew it was coming sometime soon but definitely had no idea it was going to come in the way he asked. Andrew promised it would come as a surprise and he definitely pulled it off. So this is how it all went down...
Andrews side of the story - Andrew called my principal at the school I was teaching at, called East Hollywood High School, for some help. My principal put Andrew in contact with one of the film teachers, Todd, at the school. Andrew and Todd decided that putting a script together and having it on film would be awesome. So the film teacher then asked two of his students, Anna and Alek, to help Andrew put a script together and come up with a game plan.
My side of the story - About 2 weeks before the proposal Anna came to me after a class and asked if I could help her with a film project. She needed a new teacher to be in her film and said it would be simple and would let me know the details when she knew more about the project. Several days later, Anna asked if I could help her with this film after school. (I didn't really want to participate because I wanted to get home to see Andrew.) Anna said she would come get me when the were ready to film. As I waited for almost 45 min, I decided to walk into the studio where the film was going to take place. As I walked in they all seemed ready at that moment. I was given a script and only had a few minutes to read over it but fortunately I wasn't asked to memorize it. The script took place as a restaurant called LaCaille. One student was acting as my boy friend, another student was acting as the waiter, and two other students were filming. We then went through the script off camera (well, at least that's was what I was told) and then the 2nd time we went through it on camera. At one point in the script, my "boyfriend" was getting nervous about something and had to run off stage because he was going to throw up. He then came back on stage and asked my for hand in marriage. So now the third and final time of going through the script my so called "boyfriend" went off stage and my real boyfriend came on stage. I was shocked to see Andrew sitting in front of me! I couldn't believe I didn't catch on sooner but as soon as I saw Andrew there, I knew what was going to happen. Since I was in shock, I sat there smiling, laughing nervously, not saying anything so Andrew had to tell me "the show must go on". As much as I wanted him to just pop the question, I finished my lines, then he proceeded to say his lines and then got down on one knee and ask me to marry him. Even though he knew what I was going to say and I knew what was going on, we both were nervous and a little shaky. I also have to add that even though I said "YES" really quickly, I was hesitant to kiss him because my students were watching. The thing I loved the most is that fact that we have all of this on film and can watch it whenever we want to remind us of one of the best memories we have together!
Just a few of our engagement pics. We don't have any pics for the actual proposal, just the video.
